Apparently, Washington Avenue is the sole street in Seaford named after an owner of slaves. Jackson Avenue is certainly not named after President Jackson.

A new Christian congregation on Jackson Avenue
A different Christian congregation has moved into the church at 2199 Jackson Avenue north of Merrick Road. For many years, this was the Episcopal church of St. Michael and All Angels. Note the 1962 cornerstone. I am under the impression that the Episcopal diocese owns the parishes.
Google Blogger allows much editing of text. Because I am learning about this church and its tenants, I stand correction and will edit.

A photo taken in October, 2025, is below. Note the 1962 cornerstone. The Christian congregation is Salvation Tabernacle, which moved from Jamaica, Queens. Apparently, this congregation lacked parking in Jamaica and found this rental, which not only has its own parking but can use two nearby Town of Hempstead lots.
