The elevator in the Seaford Library will be replaced.

Patrons of the Seaford, NY, Library will have to use the south entrance while the elevator is being replaced from January 2, 2024, until about January 24. 

Long Island License Plate

Recently, the New York Department of Motor Vehicles issued a beautiful custom license plate for Long Island. It shows the Montauk lighthouse and adjacent shore line cliffs.  Be warned that the annual fees are costly.

Memorial Day, 2023

 

In 2023, Seaford's Memorial Day parade was led by members of the American Legion Post. Any photo can be enlarged by clicking on it.

William Garnett Payne

 William Garnett Payne was a prominent and prosperous citizen  of Seaford. I just came across a summary  of his life (1870-1940) in the website Find-A-Grave, linked HERE.

We lost Jack Healy

Sad to relate, Seaford and Wantagh lost the frequent volunteer of exemplary causes, Jack Healy of Spur Lane. Jack volunteered much skill and time in early website creation for St. William's parish and the Wantagh Fire District.

My only photos evidence his role in the U. S. Navy. Note the cap, depicting the USNS Comfort T-AH-20, a hospital ship.

 

Young priest Peter Duganzic created a website for the parish of St. William the Abbot. Upon Fr. Duganzic's assignment elsewhere, Jack Healy picked up the work and volunteered many hours of improvements and reconstruction, as the tools for websites evolved.
